We empower Asian American youth to reach their full potential.
AAMPLIFY fills the gap between what schools teach and what Asian American students actually need: relevant history, practical leadership skills, and a supportive community.

Why AAMPLIFY exists
Schools don’t exactly teach what it means to be Asian American, even if their Asian American students are interested. What’s worse, the model minority myth reduces resources directed at Asian American communities. And lack of representation makes it seem like Asian Americans don’t participate in politics, don’t become leaders, and are content to assimilate.
These are long-held stereotypes. And they’re wrong.
AAMPLIFY fills the gap with relevant education, leadership training, and community. From the model minority myth to anti-Blackness in the Asian American community, we don’t just explain Asian American history. We help young people imagine new kinds of leadership and new futures.
This program was amazing. The curriculum actually teaches real skills that schools usually won’t teach, like public speaking, networking, and advocacy.
Our program
Over two weeks, students build leadership skills, learn their history, and connect with mentors, all in a community that they can relate to.
Leadership training
Youth reach their full potential by advancing equity and building collective power through public speaking, meeting facilitation, and community organizing.
Social justice education
An ethnic studies education to develop context and perspective for current events, from the model minority myth to cross-racial solidarity movements.
Advocacy practice
Students apply their knowledge through lobby days, community presentations, and capstone projects on topics they choose.
Mentorship and community
Students attend panels and talks with young professionals and college students who’ve walked their path, building a network that lasts long after the program ends.
From artists like Minnie Phan and Christina Hu to community leaders like Councilmember James Coleman and San Francisco policy advocate Adrianna Zhang, informative, inspiring speakers have visited AAMPLIFY students to share their expertise and talk about how they got to where they are.

Mentorship
Students attend panels, workshops, and talks with young professionals and community organizers to guide them on career or school development, hosted in partnership with OCA-SF.
Practical experience
Students apply their knowledge with events such as lobby days and presentations on a topic of their choice.
Graduation
Students, families, and community members come together to celebrate capstone projects and the growth our students have made.
