Frequently asked questions
Who is eligible to apply for the AAMPLIFY Social Justice Leadership Program?
Asian American high school students (rising 9th - 12th graders) in the Bay Area are encouraged to apply!
Do I need to attend the sessions in person?
Yes, the program will take place in-person in San Francisco, at a location accessible by public transportation. Please check back for updates on the exact program location.
What sort of time commitment should I expect for the program?
This year, the program takes place Monday through Friday from 10am-3pm over two weeks, July 22 - August 2, 2024. In addition, there will be a graduation celebration on Sunday, August 4, 2024.
Outside of sessions, students may spend some time working on a capstone project within a small group, however efforts will be made to provide adequate time for groups to work on their projects during the sessions.
To ensure participants get the most out of the program, full attendance is required at all sessions, except in cases of illness. Absences due to special extenuating circumstances may be considered on a case-by-case basis and must be pre-approved by AAMPLIFY staff.
How much does the program cost?
Our program is absolutely free and we intend to keep it that way. We are an education non-profit dedicated to supporting and empowering Asian American youth.
When will I hear back after I apply?
We anticipate notifying students of their acceptances by early May.
